Recovery Peer Mentoring

Thank you for considering peer mentoring with me! I’m excited that you are at least thinking about walking away from that drug that is holding you back from normal life – HOWEVER, I COMPLETELY UNDERSTAND that the logistics of coming down makes normal life seem unattainable. BUT I’M HERE TO SHOW YOU THAT IT IS NOT!

So, what are we doing here? Well, below, I’ve given a brief outline of what peer mentoring is so you understand my role in this process. Next are some disclaimers so you are clear on what exactly I am and am not. Following that is the terms and conditions so both you and me are protected and clear on what is expected. After that, we are ready to get started and I’m eager to help! Start the process by taking the ENTRY SURVEY – this helps me understand what is going on with you and this way I can provide an individualized plan. After the ENTRY SURVEY, pay a small amount (HONESTLY, IT’S LESS THAN PAYING FOR A HALF OF BAG OF METH) for the individualized recovery plan. As soon as I receive payment, you will receive your plan within 24-48 hours.

If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to email me at carlee@carleewalker.com.

HERE WE GO!

Peer Mentoring Outline

  • Peer mentoring is a form of mentorship that usually takes place between a person who has lived through a specific experience (the peer mentor) and a person who is new to that experience (the peer mentee).
  • Peer mentors provide education and support resources to mentees.
  • The peer mentor may challenge the mentee with new ideas, and encourage the mentee to move beyond what is most comfortable.
  • The peer mentor will serve as a personal guide and mentor for people seeking, or already in, recovery.
  • The peer mentor will help a client find resources for treatment, family support, and local or online support groups.
  • Peer mentors do not address trauma or process the past; the focus is on the present and future.
  • Peer mentors are unlike addiction counselors, in that mentors are non-clinical and do not diagnose or treat addiction or any mental health issues.
